At FLY KIDS READ, we believe every child deserves access to books and the opportunity to develop a lifelong love of reading. Our mission drives everything we do, from distributing free books to creating engaging educational programs that inspire young minds to explore new worlds through literature.

What We Do

FLY KIDS READ is a nonprofit organization that encourages literacy and a love for reading by providing books, reading programs, and educational activities to children in need. We recognize that access to books and quality reading instruction is fundamental to a child's educational success and personal development.

Why Literacy Matters

"Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. It is a tool for daily life in modern society. It is a bulwark against poverty, and a building block of development."

Reading proficiency by third grade is a critical predictor of future academic success and life outcomes. Children who cannot read proficiently by the end of third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school. This statistic drives our urgent mission to ensure every child has access to books and quality reading instruction from an early age.

Get Involved

There are many ways to support FLY KIDS READ and help us bring the joy of reading to more children in our community. Whether you have time to volunteer, books to donate, or financial resources to contribute, your support makes a direct impact on a child's future.

Volunteer Your Time

Join our reading sessions, help with book distribution events, or assist with administrative tasks. Every hour of volunteer time helps us reach more children.

Donate Books

We accept new and gently used children's books for ages 3-12. Picture books, early readers, and chapter books are especially needed.

Financial Support

Monetary donations help us purchase new books, fund educational programs, and expand our reach to serve more children in need.

Our Vision for the Future

We envision a community where every child has access to books and the opportunity to develop strong literacy skills. Our goal is to expand our programs to reach even more underserved children, develop innovative reading initiatives, and create lasting partnerships with schools and community organizations.

Looking ahead, we plan to launch new programs including summer reading camps, family literacy workshops, and mobile book distribution services to reach children in remote areas. With continued community support, we can ensure that no child goes without access to the transformative power of reading.
